Night at the Museum: Hidden Treasures
Partnered with Fox Digital Entertainment, Night at the Museum: Hidden Treasures is a mobile hidden game based on the blockbuster series. The adventure is lead by Larry Daley, the security guard character that Ben Stiller plays in the films, as he solves the magical mystery and meeting many familiar faces along the way.
I joined the project to lead in the development of the Night at the Museum world and help build out the hidden object scenes. Completed in under six months, Night at the Museum was one the first branded projects.

NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM
As a movie franchise, the world and characters are heavily defined. We used references from the different movies to build a believable narrative and experience. I grabbed screenshots from the movie to use as reference.
Reference shots from the movie.
LAYOUT
Working with the narrative designer, we created plans for the initial layout of the game progression. The layouts are a joint effort between concept artist Tim Tang and I. We both designed and drew the sketches.
Proposed room layout and progression.
Initial sketches of the museum entryway.
ISOMETRIC DESIGN
Using isometric assets, we built the designs in the custom Mantis Engine. In order to save on memory, each asset is based off a 1x1 square. We tried to include a few iconic elements from the movie like the globe front desk, T-rex exhibit, and even Teddy Roosevelt makes an appearance.
SPACE ROOM
The astronaut and space inspired room.
The Miniature Room
We created elements and actions scene that are witnessed from the movie.
Egyptian Room
We created elements and actions scene that are witnessed from the movie.
HIDDEN OBJECT SCENES
